Funny games for teachers When to use games for Classroom Training: You can use games at the start of a training session to allow participants to become familiar with each other (the so-called ice-breakers), or during the session when you want to re-energize your participants.
Kids take out their whiteboards or some scratch paper and then I give them a topic (e.g. names of states, weather words, proper nouns…). Then they write down as many as they can in the time given. After a few minutes, I ask all the kids to stand if they wrote at least 5…10…15… until we find the child with the most answers. Then if there’s time, I have that child read the list to the class. Fun games to play in the classroom
Game: Divide your class into small groups and hand out an object/soft toy to each group. The person with the object in each group will start. You name a title or theme, e.g. prime numbers, and it is then a race against time for the student to give 5 correct responses, e.g. 2, 3, 5, 7, 11, before the item/soft toy has been passed around everyone in their small group and returned to them. EFL Vocabulary Games In this Monopoly-themed game, students will be exploring and sharing their feelings. There are 22 different feelings on the game board and there are different types of cards such as Chance (16) and Treasure Chest (16). Students try and earn gold coins. Directions included.
