My biggest takeaway from Aftermath is the frequency the game crashes, requiring a total restart. Now that wouldn’t be so bad if my killer stats weren’t saved in order to upgrade weapons (I think they were…), but my progress within the game was not, which I felt was more important. While 4K and 60fps is a huge upgrade in itself, Sabre have also promised a larger, more comprehensive update to the game when the native next-gen versions drop next year. This includes even larger hordes of Zekes and improved graphical fidelity. Also announced is the new Horde Mode XL game mode – a new mode poised to take further advantage of the new hardware by pitting you against endless waves of zombies even larger than before. World War Z still has issues, but improvements made by Saber Interactive have made the game even better.
